Adelaide has held on in a thrilling finish to claim the inaugural AFLW premiership.

The Crows defeated the Lions at Metricon Stadium, 4.11 (35) to 4.5 (29).

Adelaide looked the stronger of the two sides for the majority of the match, however, poor kicking in front of goal kept Brisbane in the match.

The Crows led by 12 points at the final change, before holding off a fast finishing Brisbane side for a nail biting six-point win.

Adelaide's Erin Phillips dominated with 28 disposals and was named player of the match.

Despite Brisbane not being able to host the game at the Gabba, a brilliant crowd of 15,610 turned out at Metricon Stadium.
