The AFLW Finals are here, with the first weekend of action set to shape the post-season and give us an early indication into who the real contenders are.

As teams are announced across the coming days, we're here to provide you with the latest selection news.

Melbourne vs Adelaide

Friday, November 4 - Ikon Park, 7:10pm (all times AEDT)

Adelaide's AFLW premiership defence has received a seismic boost following the news that skipper Chelsea Randall has been selected to face Melbourne in this Friday's qualifying final.

The triple-premiership winner was initially expected to be touch-and-go to resume her duties during the finals after sustaining an ankle injury late in the season, however, the 31-year-old remained true to past form, recovering quicker than first diagnosed.

Randall will lead her Crows out against the Demons in a rematch of season six's decider.

Melbourne head coach Mick Stinnear will send an unchanged unit into the series opener, opting not to tinker at the selection table following his side's sterling 74-point win to round out the home-and-away season.

The opening bounce of the mouthwatering clash is scheduled for 7:10pm (AEDT) and will take place at Princes Park.

The winner will earn a pass straight through to host a home preliminary final, as has become custom within the men's competition.

Teams for the remaining three clashes this weekend will be named on Friday evening.

Geelong vs North Melbourne

Saturday, November 5 - GMHBA Stadium, 7:10pm

Geelong have made one alteration to their side to face North Melbourne, with Melissa Bragg taking the place of Maddy Keryk in Dan Lowther's lineup.

Any lingering worry over the fitness of Georgie Prespakis has been dashed, with the young onballer named in the middle of the ground.

In much-needed news for the Roos, star veteran Emma Kearney will make her return, however her inclusion is offset by an injury to Erika O'Shea, who has been ruled out of the elimination final through injury.

Charli Granville has also been omitted from the team, with Kim Rennie making her return.
