Kane Cornes has slammed the idea of AFLX, with the AFL unveiling a new format and logos for the 2019 edition.

The AFL have decided four teams named the Bolts, Flyers, Rampage and Deadlys will be captained by Patrick Dangerfield, Nat Fyfem Jack Riewoldt and Eddie Betts respectively, and will take place at Marvel Stadium for one-night only in February.

Cornes isn't happy with the new format, and slammed the 'Mickey Mouse' competition that is AFLX.

“What about this rubbish that is AFLX?" Cornes told SEN SA.

“This is the biggest embarrassment on the game right now. It is making a mockery of the game.

“It is against tradition, it is Mickey Mouse and the overwhelming response from the fans out there is they think this stinks. They cannot stand it.

“I have seen no positive commentary in regards to this.”
