Former Port Adelaide premiership midfielder Kane Cornes has listed a number of players who he believes will be under the pump during the 2018 season.
Speaking on SEN's Whateley, Cornes suggested some coaches like Nathan Buckley and Ross Lyon will need to perform this year, while also taking aim at players like Paddy McCartin and Heath Shaw.
Cornes also put Geelong under the blowtorch, believing it's boom or bust for the Cats this year as their list continues to age.
"Each team and player comes into the season with different expectations and pressure. Some teams and certain individuals have no option but to step up," Cornes began.
"Is it Geelong who, with their recent recruiting policy and aging list, has one last chance for glory in 2018?
"Or is time running out for Ross Lyon?
"One of the games brightest minds and intriguing figures as he goes about the Fremantle list build in front of an impatient and passionate supporter base out west.
"The sidesโ percentage was the equal worst in the competition last year, and 12 wins in the last two seasons are hardly acceptable. Ross is under the pump.
"Nathan Buckley, Paddy McCartin, Tom Liberatore, Heath Shaw โ boys you need a big year!
"Who is under the pump? Who needs an inspiring pep talk to get them up for the 2018 season?
"A season that scarily could be their last."
