Former Tigers and Dockers defender Reece Conca has joined Melbourne as a player development manager for next year.

Conca was not offered a new deal by Fremantle at the end of the 2021 season, concluding his three-year, 46-game stint with the Western Australian club.

The 29-year-old ventured to Cockburn at the end of the 2018 season from Richmond, where he played 104 games and made his AFL debut in 2011.

The next career of Conca's career will see the Perth product move back to Victoria, joining the Demons in an off-field role.

“Reece is a very impressive young man who has garnered a wealth of experience across his playing career at both Fremantle and Richmond,” Melbourne football performance manager Richardson said on Conca's arrival to the club.

“He is a quality character, with a passion for supporting the development of players and ensuring they have the best environment to thrive.

“We are excited to welcome Reece to our program and look forward to the impact he will have on our footy club.”

Conca is set to officially join the Demons early next year ahead of the club's premiership title defence.
