Collingwood star Brayden Maynard was involved in a car accident on Thursday morning.
The Magpies defender was a part of the two-car incident in Brighton where he crashed into a ute containing two trade workers. Fortunately, no one was hurt or injured.
Collingwood executive general manager Charlie Gardiner confirmed the situation and the thankful outcome of the accident.
โFortunately, neither Brayden nor the passengers in the other vehicle were hurt in the accident," Gardiner said.
โSpeaking with Brayden this morning, this was an unfortunate accident, but thankfully he and the other driver and passenger were okay.โ
The out-of-contract premiership hero has set his sights on re-signing, saying in February that there wasn't "any worry" a deal couldn't get done.
"The conversations have been had. We're in a good spot at the moment and I feel like we're going to be able to get that done soon," Maynard said.
"We'll leave that to my management and the club to get done. I don't think there's any worry."
North Melbourne have emerged as a suitor for his talents as the Kangaroos aim to bolster their defensive line with ready-made talent, with their forward line and midfield list builds taking shape.
Without injury from the accident, it's likely Maynard will still be fit to suit up for Collingwood's first match of the year, with the Pies taking on Port Adelaide on Saturday night at the MCG.
