Collingwood has re-signed premiership defender Brayden Maynard to a four-year deal, taking him until the end of 2029.
Maynard was set to enter unrestricted free agency at the end of the year, but has shunned rival interest to remain in the black and white.
North Melbourne came hard for the 28-year-old's services, posing as a destination that could potentially offer a longer deal on more money.
"I'm incredibly proud and excited to be wearing the black and white for another four years," Maynard said.
"I love this Club. From the players and staff to our incredible fans, everyone contributes to making Collingwood the Club it is.
"To the Magpie Army โ it's a privilege to represent you each week. No matter where we play, you show up in force with passion and loyalty, and I can't wait to keep running out in front of you for years to come.
"Up the Maggies!"
But Maynard, who was drafted by the Pies with Pick 30 in 2014, displayed his faith in the Victorian powerhouse.
Aside from his maiden campaign at Collingwood, the heart-and-soul Pie has been a mainstay under Nathan Buckley and Craig McRae, playing at least 19 matches in any given year.
He was named in the All-Australian side in 2022, and the following season claimed the premiership.
Maynard has become a pivotal part of Collingwood's make-up, not only from a defensive perspective, but also a leadership one, taking on the vice-captaincy for the past two years.
The 28-year-old also got the opportunity to lead the club against Adelaide in the absence of skipper Darcy Moore.
GM of List and Talent Strategy Justin Leppitsch understood the significance of Maynard's recommitment.
"Everyone at our Club universally loves Brayden, but especially his teammates. He is a heart and soul player who leads from the front in every aspect," Leppitsch said.
"It's great to have โBruz' recommit. He is the ultimate club-person, epitomising a team-first mentality on and off the field.
"We are excited to see Brayden in the black and white for the next four years and beyond."
Maynard has missed the past two outings with a foot injury, but is expected to return shortly after the club's mid-season bye.
