Collingwood midfielder Ed Allan has signed a four-year contract extension with the club following a breakout 2026 season.
The 22-year-old is now contracted to the black and white until he becomes a free agent in 2030.
Allen, who played 19 games this year after only being picked for 15 throughout his first three years at the club, became a genuine tagging option in the Pies' midfield throughout 2026.
He was unable to cement a spot in the side in previous years, and struggled to find consistent form as a previously tried wingman, before midfield coach Matthew Boyd proposed the idea of becoming a tagger.
Allen took the responsibility and hasn't looked back since, playing on and matching the likes of Isaac Heeney, Zak Butters, Kysaiah Pickett and Sam Walsh, ultimately welcoming this extension.
He recorded more than 20 disposals on six occasions throughout the year, racking up a career-high 28 possessions in the side's round 23 draw against Hawthorn, to go alongside a goal and six tackles.
The Magpies initially offered a two-year contract to Allan in August but raised the offer to four more years.
Collingwood farewelled club champions Steele Sidebottom (retired) and Scott Pendlebury (Gold Coast).
The Pies also announced six delistings last week, with Lachie Sullivan, Joel Cochran, Wil Parker, Jakob Ryan, Iliro Smit and mid-season recruit Mitch Podhajski all not offered contracts for 2027.
