Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has some hard decisions to make for this week's senior side selection, with many top VFL performers such as Chris Mayne and Jordan De Goey knocking on the door for their chance.

The Pies will face off at Adelaide Oval on Friday against the Crows with a potentially new-look lineup, if Buckley decides it's time for change.

Ex-Fremantle forward Mayne had a starring performance alongside Josh Daicos and others in Collingwood's 31-goal clinic that saw Collingwood 31.15.201 defeat the Northern Blues 11.5.71 by 130 points on the weekend.

“Chris Mayne’s been excellent, Jarryd Blair’s been excellent," Buckley said on SEN on Tuesday.

“Jordan De Goey and Jamie Elliott were very good, Alex Fasolo was very good again, so that’s two weeks that he’s put together."

Buckley also described father-son recruit Josh Daicos as having a "breakout game" and mentioned that he thinks he "played his best game for the footy club at that level.”

“You can only fit 22 upstairs, each player’s time will come if they persist and if they continue to do the work to earn their improvement and to be ready to take their chance when the door becomes ajar,” Buckley explained.
