Collingwood EGM Charlie Gardiner has addressed Collingwood legend Scott Pendlebury's future.
Speaking on Fox Footy, he poured cold water on suggestions that the situation is delicate.
"I don't think it's delicate," Gardiner said.
"I think it's just a case of Scott wanting to take his time and get through this season and put all of his energy into what we're doing as a team and focus his energy on a finals campaign and he'll sit down at the end of the year with the family, the club and work out what he wants to do."
It comes as reports emerge Pendlebury could announce his playing intentions as soon as next week if the Magpies are vanquished from finals on Friday night.
A Magpies one-year extension remains in play, but speculation is mounting he could end up on Gold Coast and there is no guarantee he will play on, with retirement still on the table.
The Pies would need to win at least two finals for Pendlebury to have any chance of playing again this year after he sustained a hamstring strain in the last round of the home and away season.
