Collingwood Coach Craig McRae has provided a huge update on small forward Lachie Schultz.
Speaking in his presser after Collingwood training today McRae told the media Schultz ran for the first time today saying he could potentially return “next week or the week after.”
“Lachie has had a baby this week so there is some joy in his life and he is out there with the boot off, running for the first time today,” McRae said.
“He looked like he kept getting faster and faster from what I saw, so that is a real positive
thing.”
Schultz, who sustained a syndesmosis injury in the second quarter against North Melbourne, was aiming to return to play in two to four weeks from the injury.
He did miss some of the 2025 season with a hamstring injury and concussion but McRae is happy that he is back running earlier than expected.
“I think originally it was maybe one to three weeks, but it's been one week and he's already moving.
“That is an exciting thing to think that Lachie might be close [to returning]. Maybe next week or the week after”
The Pies face Adelaide this Thursday night in a blockbuster top 10 clash.
