AFL champion Chris Judd is back with another top five. This week on Footy Classified, Juddy looks at the league's top swingmen.

Judd listed players who he believes have been the best this season and provide the most to their team in either the forward half of the field or in defence. Some controversy came out of the list as co-hosts Craig Hutchinson and Matthew Lloyd had some issues.

Take a look at the list:

5. Micheal Hurley (Essendon)

Judd did say that Hurley's having a bit of a quieter season, however his numbers still impress. His 25 disposals and seven marks a game have been key as Essendon try to keep their finals' hopes alive.

4. Justin Westhoff (Port Adelaide)

Westhoff has been one of Port's most valuable players as they look surprise with a deep finals run this season. His ability to play forward and kick some goals as well as hold down the defence in crunch time is something every team wants and something the Port Power value.

3. Cale Hooker (Essendon)

Started the year up forward, Hooker's moved down back for Essendon and provided solid one-on-one defence as he's picked up 17.5 disposals a game and 6.5 marks. Along with Hurley, his versatility makes Essendon a very hard team to game plan for.

2. Jack Gunston (Hawthorn)

A player referred to by Juddy as an 'overlooked swingman'. Undoubtedly one of the leagues most dangerous players in front of goals, Gunston can go back and provide real value on the defensive end. With 3.3 intercept marks and 1.9 goals a game, his numbers back him up.

1. Tom Mcdonald (Melbourne)

Very dominant up forward this year, he has been vital in Melbourne's strong season and is a big reason why they sit so high on the ladder. Yet to play in the defence yet, Juddy added he adds value as he is now an option with Jake Lever out for the season.

After Juddy ended his list, Hutchinson and Lloyd immediately voiced their issues. "I don't reckon any of them have swung" Lloyd said. Hutchinson immediately agreed saying "not one of them have swung this year."

Judd responded with a classic "But, they're ready to swing, don't worry about that".
