Geelong are set to unveil debutant Max Holmes for Easter Monday's clash with arch-rivals Hawthorn in Round 3.

Holmes was the Cats' top selection from last year's draft after trading up the order in an exchange of picks with Richmond to secure the teenager.

The pacey midfielder has impressed at the VFL level this season, competing in a couple of practice matches - including a best-on-ground performance last week.

While the Cats won't officially lodge their 26-man squad for Monday's traditional clash until 6:20pm AEDT on Sunday, AFL.com.au have reported Holmes is set to be named for the showcase fixture.

Geelong will be forced into at least one change after Gary Rohan was handed a two-game ban for his strike on Brisbane star Lachie Neale.

Midfield duo Mitch Duncan (calf) and Sam Menegola (shoulder) are both looking to prove their fitness prior to the clash at the MCG.
