Geelong CEO Brian Cook will remain at the club until at least the end of 2020.

Cook signed a two-year contract extension to remain at the Cattery, a place that he has called home as CEO since 1999.

His reign at the helm has produced 3 premierships, breaking Geelong's 44-year drought in 2007, as well as triumphs in 2009 and 2011.

Cook said he was proud to be re-appointed and is positive about the years to come.

"Geelong is a club like no other, and I am proud to continue in this role with the support of the board, management, staff and players," Cook told geelongcats.com.au.

"This is a special club, and everybody is looking ahead to ensure we continue to have success in everything we do. There will be challenges and we will work together to meet these head on."

Geelong president Colin Carter gave a glowing endorsement of Cook's time as CEO of Geelong, noting his "outstanding leadership approach".

"To thrive as a CEO in such a tough and demanding industry for so long is an extraordinary achievement. Brian and his executive have a strong track record in delivering results for our members and supporters, and we still see challenges ahead that Brian will guide us through," Carter said.

"Brian's track record is second to none and in addition to on and off field success, Brian has implemented strong culture that continues to serve the club well."

Cook will become the first AFL club CEO to serve for 30 years, after joining Geelong from his role as West Coast CEO in the 1990's.

Other achievements during his tenure include increasing membership numbers from 19,971 in 1999 to the current mark of 56,577, and successfully gaining access to a spot in the AFLW from 2019.
