Charlie Curnow is happy to lower his salary to leave Carlton and join Geelong in this year's AFL Trade period, according to Sam Edmund on AFL Trade radio.
Currently, Curnow is reportedly earning "in the vicinity $1-1.1 Million", which he is happy to shave off some of that money to get to a new club.
"He's willing to take a haircut to sit between $800,000-$900,000 over the next four years."
This would result in "shelving off $1 million" on his current contract.
The star forward also "approached" Geeling in May about the idea of moving down the highway.

Geelong offered three first-round picks to Carlton for a Curnow trade last week, but, by no surprise, it was rejected. This trade is "as good as they could do" without involving any players.
Names like Gryan Miers, Shannon Neale and Ollie Henry have been brought up to be a part of a potential deal, but the Cats are not willing to offer players in a trade yet.
Sydney has been the other team in play for the two-time Coleman medalist. The Swans are not Curnow's first choice, but he is "open to it" if a deal does get done.
Curnow has "yet to tour the facilities" in Sydney, which could change his perspective if he does meet with them.
Sydney also has the "willingness" to offer players in a trade, with names like Oliver Florent, Will Hayward, James Rowbottom and Tom Papley all being thrown around in a potential deal.
The Swans also have picks to offer to sweeten the deal, and are currently armed with Pick 11, 32 and future selections.
The AFL trade period deadline is on Wednesday, the 15th of October at 7:30 pm AEDT.
