Carlton has locked in Round 22-23 as a return-to-play date for defender Jacob Weitering.
Weitering has not played since Round 12 due to a calf injury and closed in on a return a fortnight ago before suffering a setback.
It means he should face Western Bulldogs and Fremantle to finish the season which may pose as must-win games if Carlton are to sneak into Wildcard Round. He may face St Kilda, and will miss the clashes with Collingwood, Gold Coast and Brisbane.
George Hewett's back spasm which occurred in the first quarter against Hawthorn on Saturday night has since settled and he will be available to face Collingwood provided he trains later this week.
Collingwood has ruled Lachie Schultz our for two to four weeks with an ankle injury sustained against North Melbourne.
He has been an important front half contributor for the Magpies this season with his pressure. Harvey Harrison looms as the obvious inclusion after being managed on the weekend.
Brisbane, meanwhile, has confirmed forward Oscar Allen will return from a foot injury this weekend.
Allen has been sidelined since Round 7 in a frustrating first season at his new club, but is no guarantee to come straight back into the AFL lineup.
Brisbane's match committee will determine whether he is eased through the VFL or returns straight to the senior side where he would play his old West Coast side.
Allen has played just 30 games since the start of 2024.
"It's a hard decision," coach Fagan said following the two-time premiers' win over Essendon on Sunday night.
"I'm not sure what we'll do.
"I know it's against his old team, but he hasn't played for a while and hasn't played a lot of football for the last two or three years."
Lincoln McCarthy will also be available for selection.
