Carlton has handed young defender Matthew Carroll a debut for this weekend's clash against West Coast.
Carroll - who grew up supporting the Blues - joined the club as a rookie selection at the end of 2023.
However, the Sandringham Dragons product endured an injury-riddled maiden campaign, and overcame the disappointment of being delisted last October to claim a list spot as an SSP recruit.
Carroll was impressive when returning back to the club in the VFL practice match last month, whilst also putting his name in lights against Southport Sharks days ago.
He had 17 disposals (16 kicks), eight marks and two tackles in the heavy defeat, but was one of few shining lights for Carlton.
The left-footer will come into the senior side for the injured Lachlan Cowan, who is sidelined for at least six weeks due to a hamstring injury.
The dream becomes a reality!

Ruckman Marc Pittonet and winger Matthew Cottrell will also come into selection consideration, as will the Camporeale twins after an impressive performance in the reserves.
Harry McKay and Elijah Hollands featured in the VFL last week after spending time away from the club in recent weeks.
Coach Michael Voss said Hollands needs to string strong performances together before being recalled.
Carroll will be Carlton's third AFL debut, joining the likes of Lucas Camporeale and Will White.
The Blues will be looking to avoid a 0-5 start when they face the Eagles on Saturday at Adelaide Oval.
More to come.
