North Melbourne star midfielder Luke Davies-Uniacke's injury has been confirmed after he was announced as a very late out for the Kangaroos' clash against Hawthorn on Saturday afternoon.

Fox Footy confirmed during their telecast of Hawks-Roos that calf tightness was the reason the North Melbourne midfielder was rubbed out, replaced by Daniel Howe, who was originally selected as North's tactical substitute, with ex-Docker Darcy Tucker named the updated sub.

Initially, no late outs were reported an hour prior to the first bounce, however, just a few minutes before the first bounce, Davies-Uniacke was ruled out of the contest.

Hawthorn is battling North Melbourne at UTAS Stadium in Hobart on Saturday.
