Richmond have informed Todd Elton, Steven Morris and Taylor Hunt their services will no longer be required.

The trio will not be offered contracts for the 2018 season and beyond, with Morris' six-year career at the Tigers coming to an end.

The 28-year-old played 87 games for Richmond since joining the club in 2011, but could only manage one senior game in 2017, and spent the majority of the year in the VFL.

Hunt moved to Richmond at the end of the 2014 season after 63 games for Geelong, and went on to play 42 more for the Tigers in the past three seasons.

Elton was selected in the 2011 National Draft, but could only manage 11 games over his career.

“On behalf of everyone at Richmond, I would like to thank Todd and Taylor for their contribution to the Club,” Richmond's general manager of football talent Dan Richardson told richmondfc.com.au.

“We are delighted Steve will return for the VFL Tigers in 2018 and also thank him for his service as an AFL player.

“We wish them and their families all the very best for the future.”

The trio join retiring ruckman Ivan Maric in leaving the club in 2017.
