Collingwood has announced its leadership group for season 2017.

Scott Pendlebury will again lead the club as captain, while Taylor Adams and Steele Sidebottom have been named vice-captains in what is only a three-man leadership group.

Pendlebury will captain the side for a fourth consecutive season.

“You don’t have to have a title to lead at this football club. We expect others to tell us what to do as well,” Pendlebury said of the streamlined leadership team.

“It’s a fresh start. We’re as hungry as ever to get stuck into the season.”

Pendlebury also said he expects to be fit for round one, despite sitting out this weekend’s final JLT Series match.

“It was just precautionary on the weekend,” he said.

“I’ll be fine for round one. I’ll train Friday.”
