Star Swans Lance Franklin and Dan Hannebery will miss Sydney's clash with Geelong at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday, as injuries have caught up with the pair.

Daily Telegraph reporter Neil Cordy has reported Franklin's heel injury stems from the Swans' round one clash with West Coast at the new Optus Stadium.

Franklin has reportedly battled with the issue all season long, but the injury will only now keep him sidelined.

Hannebery on the other hand will miss the game with a groin injury, sustained during his side's loss to Adelaide on Friday.

“Lance won't play on Saturday. He hasn’t been able to do any significant training since the Round 1 game against West Coast,” Longmire told reporters on Tuesday.

“He hasn’t responded after giving him time off and it got worse on the weekend so he won’t be playing this week.

“We don’t know at this stage how he will respond to that.”
