A three-year ban has been placed on a fan who threw beer on Essendon and West Coast players during the first elimination final.

During a melee on the boundary line between Nic Naitinui and Zach Merrett and several other Bombers and Eagles players, a fan tossed beer at the players in the midst of the craziness.

The perpetrator was revealed as businessman and fan Noel Bridge, who was sitting in an area called the 'Locker Room'.

The three-year ban handed down by the AFL sanctions Bridge from entering all AFL matches around Australia and it expires on September 11, 2022.

This ban is the recent of several throughout the 2019 season, including a fight which saw four fans cop five-year bans during Collingwood v Carlton.

Naitanui and Merrett were both fined $1,000 for their role in the on-field wrestle.
