Bailey Scott has inked a new deal with North Melbourne, turning his back on potential interest come this year's trade period.

Scott enjoyed a career-best campaign in 2022, averaging 18 disposals per game, and playing 18 games for the season.

The 22-year-old was linked with a move out of Arden Street this year, with a shift to Geelong, another former club of his father Robert's, heavily speculated.

North Melbourneโ€™s list and recruiting manager Brady Rawlings said it was great to see the young Roo recommit to the club.

โ€œWe are really pleased to have Bailey commit to our club,โ€ Rawlings said.

โ€œThere has obviously been a lot of external discussion around Baileyโ€™s future. Bailey is passionate about the North Melbourne Football Club and has a lot of confidence in where we are headed.

โ€œAs a club, we are invested in Bailey, heโ€™s an important player to us and his recent accolades speak for themselves.

โ€œItโ€™s a great outcome for all involved.โ€

Scott finished in third place in North Melbourne's best and fairest count, with Jy Simpkin claiming the win.
