The AFL have announced a 40-woman All-Australian squad following the 2018 AFLW season.

Surprisingly, both Collingwood and Melbourne each have seven representatives in the squad, while grand final sides Brisbane and the Western Bulldogs have just six each.

Carlton only won two matches and finished with the wooden spoon this season, and have just two players in the squad, the lowest of all eight teams.

14 players are looking for back-to-back All-Australian selections, when the final team of 21 is announced next Tuesday night at the W Awards.

Adelaide's Chelsea Randall was named to the squad, after taking home the Crows' club champion award on Wednesday night.
