The premiership winning Western Bulldogs dominated the AFL Women’s All Australian team on Tuesday night with four players being named to the side.

League best and fairest winner Emma Kearney, defender Hannah Scott, goalkicking leader Brooke Lochland and acting premiership captain Ellie Blackburn all earned selections.

Nine women backed up their outstanding 2017 seasons by receiving honours for a second consecutive year.

This included Adelaide co-captain Chelsea Randall, who was named as captain of the side with Melbourne midfielder Daisy Pearce serving as her deputy.

Despite falling short of the ultimate prize this season, Randall had full praise of the celebrants on the night.

“It’s just sensational,” Randall said at the AFLPA event.

“The girls are just amazing and I blinked my eyes and the whole season was over. It was just amazing to watch some of the girls.

“Some of us have been on this journey together for 15-odd years. So to be able to watch your mates playing the footy that they love and sharing the passion with their teammates is still surreal.

“Sometimes you just keep pinching yourself that your dream is finally a reality and you get to share that with other passionate people.”

Collingwood young gun Chloe Molloy capped off an excellent debut season, which included All Australian and AFLPA best first-year player honours.

Demon Aliesha Newman’s three-bounce effort won AFLW goal of the year and Blues forward Tayla Harris’ big grab against Collingwood received mark of the year.
