The AFL Players Association has announced the six nominees for the Most Valuable Player of the Month award for April.

A team of four AFL greats, including Gerard Healy, Tim Watson, Chris Judd and Leigh Matthews each provide a list of players they believe should be considered as the best player for the past month.

From there, the current players vote on who they believe is the MVP of the month, with each month's winner automatically nominated for the AFL Players' MVP award at the end of the season.
