Essendon are understood to have held talks with the representative of Richmond duo Shai Bolton and Mabior Chol.

As reported by The Herald Sun's Mark Robinson, Bombers list boss Adrian Dodoro has had discussions with notable player manager Ralph Carr in regards to the futures of the aforementioned Tigers pair.

Both Bolton and Chol are off-contract this year and have recently gained interest from circling interstate clubs, but are now on the radar of the Bombers.

Bolton, a South Fremantle product, is sure to gain strong desire from both Western Australian clubs this season and will reportedly hold off on making a decision on his future until the end of the season.

Chol is understood to be in the sights of as many as five clubs, with Gold Coast named as one of the keen suitors and could lure the athletic tall back to Queensland following his playing days with Aspley.

Richmond will be keen to lock away the services of the exciting duo, along with rising forward Callum Coleman-Jones - who has also gained interest from across the league.

The Tigers are understood to have locked away the services of veteran spearhead Jack Riewoldt for another season, while Shane Edwards and Bachar Houli remain unsigned for 2022.

The Bombers are sure to prioritise the re-signings of gun midfield pair Zac Merrett and Darcy Parish before looking outside the four walls of Tullamarine.
