Kane Cornes has named enigmatic Sydney Swans forward Will Hayward as a potential trade target for the Adelaide Crows this coming off-season.

"I wonder whether Will Hayward from Sydney is gettable, because I think this kid can be a very good footballer", Cornes said on SEN SA Breakfast.

"He is perfect for what Adelaide needs. A medium sized forward, tough, really good in the air, in time he could go into the midfield."

Hayward - who hails from SANFL club North Adelaide and was taken by the Swans with Pick 21 in the 2016 National Draft - is signed through 2024 and has featured in four games for Sydney so far this season.

The Crows are reportedly one of four clubs with significant salary cap room at the end of this year, and Cornes believes Adelaide should take advantage; starting with South Australians at other clubs.

"The obvious ones are Jack Lukosius and Izak Rankine and I doubt Gold Coast would be interested in dealing them away", Cornes reasoned.

Fellow South Australian Swan Jordan Dawson is out of contract at the end of the year and has already attracted significant interest from multiple clubs.

Hayward has booted six goals from four matches in 2021, adding two to his tally last weekend in his side's loss to Melbourne.

The Swans will face Collingwood in Round 10 in hope of further staking their claim as a top-eight side this season.
