Josh Kelly has yet again been linked with a monster move to North Melbourne at the end of 2021.

Kelly was a target of North previously where was offered reportedly over $1 million per season. He instead opted to stay at GWS on a deal that could either expire this year or be extended for the next eight years.

Triple M's Tom Browne is reporting that North Melbourne are being heavily linked to a play for the Giants midfielder.

“I keep getting told that Josh Kelly and North are linked,” journalist Tom Browne said on the Triple M Footy podcast.

“North unofficially saying it’s certainly not advanced … but I keep getting told that North have offered $1.1 million times eight years if Josh Kelly wants to come to North Melbourne.

“Now the second question there becomes whether the Giants want to keep Josh Kelly because remember that Kelly is playing at the Giants and they can essentially keep him. He’s got an option in his favour.

Browne said that while Kelly was happy to stay at the Giants, he is yet to make up his mind and could yet return to Victoria.

“I think Kelly would prefer, at this stage, to stay at the Giants," said Browne.

"He’s not against going to North Melbourne – he’s obviously got huge family links there and he could return to Victoria – but I think the Giants at this stage are pretty keen on keeping Kelly.

“Just watch this space. Either way, Kelly is going to earn a lot of money and it looks like that supports my theory that it would take over $1 million a year to extract Josh Kelly out of that Giants option.”
