The AFL has fined four clubs due to melees that occurred in round eight.
St Kilda and Carlton have each been fined $10,000 for the melee which followed the crude sledging of Marc Murphy a fortnight ago.
Sydney and North Melbourne were both fined $5,000, with $2,500 suspended.
Under new Match Review Panel rules this year, the League can fine clubs, rather than just players, for out of control melees.
Clubs were written to last week and were given a week to respond in writing. The clubs could either recommendย they shoulder the fine or the players who instigated the melee be slapped with the fine.
