The AFL's Match Review Officer has handed down seven charges from Friday's game between Sydney and the Western Bulldogs, with Swan Aaron Francis handed a one-game suspension.

The MRO has charged Francis with striking Bulldog Lachie Bramble in the third quarter of the game.

His actions have been graded as intentional conduct, medium impact and body contact.

An accepted ban would mean Francis is unavailable for next week's game against Fremantle, and next free to play in Round 18.

Francis can also pay two fines for separate engaging in a melee/wrestle offences. Lodging early pleas for both charges would see Francis required to pay $2000 in total.

His teammate Isaac Heeney has been charged with striking Ed Richards, with his hit on the Dogs star graded as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact.

Heeney can pay a fine of $2000 with an early plea.

Swan Tom Papley has been charged wth instigating a melee/wrestle and can pay a $1000 fine with an early plea.

Bulldog Rory Lobb has been hit with two fines for engaging in a melee/wrestle, with his two charges totalling $2000 in fines with early pleas.

No other players were charged from Friday's game.
