Geelong defender Tom Stewart has avoided any sanction for the bump on Gold Coast captain Noah Anderson in Saturday's clash at GMHBA Stadium.

Stewart elected to bump Anderson, going past the ball and collecting the Suns skipper, which saw immediately come from the ground and have his head assessed.

The Match Review Officer (MRO) explained the incident.

"The incident involving Geelong's Tom Stewart and Gold Coast's Noah Anderson from the Fourth Quarter of Saturday's match was assessed by the Match Review Officer. It was the view of the MRO that Stewart's actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and did not constitute a reportable offence."

In the same match, Jack Martin and Joel Jeffrey were fined for careless contact with an umpire, copping $1,500 penalties ($1,000 guilty plea).

GWS midfielder Tom Green received the same sanction during the loss to Port Adelaide.

As did Sydney's Isaac Heeney against Richmond.
