Richmond utility Noah Balta has narrowly avoided suspension after his forceful front-on contact on Geelong's Tom Stewart resulted in a whopping $10,000 fine ($6,250 guilty plea).

During the third quarter of Saturday's game at GMHBA Stadium, frustrations boiled over for Balta as he attacked the ball late with a bump, collecting Stewart in the head as he was fetching the football.

The star Cat managed to play out the remainder of the game, and has suffered no injury due to the incident.

The Match Review Officer (MRO) deemed the contest as careless conduct, low impact and high contact, prompting the big fine that was increased due to it being his third offence.

Despite avoiding suspension, Balta will miss the next fortnight as he serves his sentence for his off-season physical assault charge, which has a curfew of 10 pm imposed, meaning he misses night clashes.

Port Adelaide's Hugh Jackson was also caught kneeing Brisbane veteran Dayne Zorko in Saturday's loss at the Gabba.

Jackson's action was a reportable offence, with the MRO grading the incident as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact.

The Power youngster will hand over $3,000 ($2,000 guilty plea).

Earlier in the round, GWS midfielder Tom Green will cough up $6,250 ($3,750 guilty plea) for striking West Coast youngster Harley Reid.

The Eagles wunderkind also received a sanction from the MRO for his rough conduct charge on Xavier O'Halloran, resulting in the same fee.
