Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has been handed a $1500 fine for an obscene gesture that the AFL continue to stand firm against.

The 23-year-old flipped the bird at rambunctious Bulldogs faithful late in his side's frustrating loss on Sunday evening and has been handed a fine in response to the action.

The $1500 fine can be reduced to $1000 with an early plea.

He joins big-name company in committing the obscene gesture, and in being fined for it, with Cat Bailey Smith, Eagle Harley Reid and Hawk Jack Ginnivan also cited by the Match Review Office for the act in recent seasons.

It compounds further a dirty outing for "Nas" and his side.

The South Australian has been the subject of criticism for his lack of impact in the contest. His 44 disposals yielded just six score involvements, as his coach's use of the superstar's talents came under fire.

However, how to best deploy Wanganeen-Milera is the least of the club's concerns, with injury concerns to prime movers Tom de Koning and co-captain Jack Sinclair hovering above Moorabbin in the wake of Sunday's loss - one that cost them their grip on a wildcard position.

The Saints will assess damages over the bye, and look to field a side capable of notching wins in the kind fortnight of fixtures that greets them afterwards. The Saints face last-placed Essendon and a debilitated Port Adelaide in the two weeks after their mid-season rest.
