Brisbane star midfielder Will Ashcroft has been handed a $3000 fine ($2000 suspended) for his elbow to Gold Coast's Matt Rowell during last week's match simulation, with the Norm Smith Medal winner one of five players charged by the Match Review Officer from week one of the pre-season fixture.
In the third period of the contest, Ashcroft can be seen swinging his right arm back into Rowell's midriff, leaving the onballer grimacing in pain.
The Suns midfielder was awarded the free-kick and played out the remainder of the match simulation.
The incident with Rowell has seen Ashcroft escape with a financial sanction, following the grading of intentional conduct, low impact and body contact.
In the same contest, VFL-listed player Harry Arnold also copped a one-match suspension for careless contact with an umpire, but can be downgraded to a reprimand.

The prized Pick 1 suffered a fractured jaw and has entered concussion protocols as a result.
The incident caused code-wide discourse of whether Ginbey should be held responsible for Lalor's injury, which he has been officially cleared of.
Adelaide's Brodie Smith also faced MRO sanctions following his bump on Port Adelaide youngster Christian Moraes.
The bump from Smith - which was well after the Power midfielder handballed the ball - floored Moraes, with the youngster drawing blood and was assisted from the ground.
The MROโs first test case of the bump for 2025 is set to come on Monday.
