Geelong duo Patrick Dangerfield and Jhye Clark can count themselves lucky after avoiding suspensions for separate rough conduct charges in Thursday's win over St Kilda at GMHBA Stadium.
Clark was handed a heftier fine for his incident involving Saints forward Jack Higgins in the first term, resulting in a $3000 penalty ($2000 early guilty plea).
The Match Review Officer (MRO) graded the action as careless conduct, low impact and high contact, escaping any match layoffs.
Dangerfield, later in the first quarter, was charged for his hit on St Kilda key defender Callum Wilkie, and will hand over $2500 ($1500 guilty plea).
The MRO deemed the contact as careless conduct, low impact and body contact.
The Cats ended a three-game losing streak after downing the Saints in front of the home crowd to the tune of 27 points.
Despite the victory, Geelong's injury turmoil reared its ugly head once again, with star Max Holmes heading for surgery on a fractured ankle and syndesmosis injury.
Holmes is unlikely to return before the completion of the home and away season, joining reigning Coleman Medallist Jeremy Cameron on the sidelines.
Shaun Mannagh is also under an injury cloud after he failed to complete the game with hamstring tightness.
The win keeps Geelong in the running for a top six spot after dropping out of the upper echelon of clubs in recent weeks.
They take on Melbourne next week.
