Touted by many, including Craft of the Draft, as the No.1 prospect from the class of 2025, Willem Duursma is set to join his three siblings in the top flight.

While he'll follow in the footsteps of brothers Xavier and Zane, and sister Yasmin, Willem brings a point of difference, given his range and upside.

A versatile, athletic and damaging prospect out of Gippsland, Duursma enjoyed a stellar draft campaign that included MVP honours with Vic Country and a VFL debut with the Casey Demons.

The 191cm utility proved this year that he is capable of playing an inside midfield game, catching the eye with his contested work in his Coates Talent League opener and final outing at the U18s National Championships.

He was one of just seven players to feature in the best players in four from four champs games, doing so alongside fellow Vic Country defender Harry Dean.

Most of Duursma's season saw the Foster native reside in the backline, where his read of the game and work rate often led to effective exits from defensive 50. A likely Pick 1 selection, Duursma looks a near certainty to join the West Coast Eagles, where he's a chance to have an immediate impact at AFL level, most likely as a medium-tall defender.

A long-term view has Duursma seen as a midfielder, while his three years with the Power have confirmed an ability to get forward and win a game off his own boot.
