Adelaide depth ruck Lachlan McAndrew has penned a two-year contract extension, locking him at West Lakes until the end of 2027.

McAndrew joined the Crows through the SSP after an impressive summer with the club.

The 25-year-old had previously spent time at Sydney, but after being delisted, was asked to train with the South Australian club, as fellow tall Kieran Strachan was ruled out of the 2025 season with a stress fracture in his right foot.

"I worked really hard in the summer to earn a list spot, so to be given two more years is something I'm really proud of," McAndrew said.

"I'm grateful to the club for showing the faith in me, and I plan to repay it in every game I play.

"We've got a great group here and I'm excited to see what we can achieve in the next few years."

McAndrew has played nine games for Adelaide's SANFL side, averaging 13.1 disposals, 3.4 marks, 6.2 tackles, 4.4 clearances and 37.4 hit-outs.

His form in the reserves grade is placing him among the names considered for senior selection, albeit behind the likes of Reilly O'Brien and forward-ruck Riley Thilthorpe.

Crows GM of List Management Justin Reid said McAndrew's extension was warranted after stirring performances in the SANFL.

"Lachie has been a great fit for our squad, both on and off the field, since he started training with us prior to Christmas," Reid said.

"He is making the most of the opportunity, and this has been reflected by his form in the SANFL.

"It is a credit to his work ethic and genuine desire to keep improving, which has been really noticeable to his teammates and coaches."

Adelaide is yet to make calls on veterans Brodie Smith, Taylor Walker and Matt Crouch, while the intriguing case of O'Brien's future remains in limbo.

Midfield options Harry Schoenberg and Zac Taylor don't have deals beyond 2025, alongside Lachlan Murphy, Hugh Bond, Chris Burgess, Karl Gallagher and Strachan.

It comes as the club still has a vested interest in luring Essendon's Sam Draper to South Australia, as well as St Kilda's Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera.

The Crows will enjoy a week off after an impressive first half of 2025, sitting in fourth position after 14 rounds.
