Adelaide has added another Irishman to the club's 2024 roster, signing Gaelic Football talent Karl Gallagher to a two-year, Catagory B Rookie contract.

A native of Ulster, Gallagher made his way to West Lakes  in November of last year after seeing his season with County Monaghan come to a close by way of a All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Dublin.

While only wearing the tri-colours for the past two months and change, the Crows are said to have kept an eye on the talented 21-year-old's form from as far back as 2019 after Gallagher impressed at the Irish AFL combine.

Speaking by way of an official club statment, Adelaide footy boss Justin Reid expressed excitement at securing Gallagher's commitment for the next pair of campaigns.

“Karl has been able to showcase all the qualities we knew he had such as speed, power, athleticism and smarts,” Reid told Crows Media.

“He's worked really hard since arriving and earnt the respect of his coaches and teammates at training.

“Importantly Karl has a really strong desire to learn and work on his craft which will hold him in good stead.

“We are looking forward to his development with a full pre-season under his belt.”

Adelaide will commence its 2024 campaign, the fifth under head coach Matthew Nicks, when they travel to face Gold Coast on Saturday, March 16 at Carrara.
