Adelaide great Tony Modra has posted an update on his condition after suffering a motor vehicle accident last month.
The truck accident in June was life-threatening, but he emerged without any long-term injuries, and he was released from hospital a fortnight ago.
"SA Ambulance Service, South Coast District Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre. Saved my life. Put me back together with a few titanium plates. Got me home," he said in a social media post.
"I'm getting out and about a bit now and slowly catching up on everything I've missed over the last month. I'm so humbled to hear how many people were cheering these incredible medical teams ... and our family too.
"I'll never be able to thank everyone enough."
The crash occurred in Back Valley, south of Adelaide. He was airlifted to Flinders Medical Centre and had surgery on his cheek, jaw and eye socket.
A two-time All Australian and 1997 Coleman Medalist, Modra kicked 588 goals in 165 games for Adelaide and Fremantle.
