It's football's night of nights.
The Brownlow rewards the brilliance of a given season, but the Australian Football Hall of Fame rewards the brilliance of a given career. Everywhere you turn, heroes from bygone eras are mingling with more recently retired phenoms.
With so much footballing acumen in the one place, I sought to find out just who some of these greats are tipping to win it all on the last day in September.
Robert "Dipper" DiPierdomenico (Fremantle)
"You're going to have to go towards Fremantle," the 1986 Brownlow Medallist told Zero Hanger.
"Four games in front [of the bulk of the chasing pack], going pretty well. But you know, it's a long, long, long year, but they're going well."
Hawthorn great Michael Tuck had strong words for the Hawks after their loss last time out, and DiPierdomenico offered his take on where the side appears to be at.
"[They were] disappointing the other night, but, look, footy's a funny game. We all expect to win, [but] it's the hardest thing to do. Maybe they should have won, but you know what? We'll have a bit of a rest and see how they come back. They'll be around the mark.
"Come on, Tucky! They'll be around the mark, mate."
