St Kilda have locked away their No. 4 pick from last year's draft Max King, extending the young big's contact for another two years.

King spent 2018 sidelined by a knee injury but will remain at the Moorabbin until the end of season 2022.

The 202cm swing-man was originally touted as a number one pick prior to a season-ending injury and he's keen to prove himself for the club that rolled the dice on him.

"I'm really excited to re-sign with the Saints," King told saints.com.au.

"I've been embraced by the whole club since being drafted. I can't wait to get to full fitness to repay the faith shown in me.

"I hope this is just the start of a long career here."

King, who was drafted out of TAC Cup side Sandringham Dragons, will be eager to kick things off with a VFL debut during the first half of the season.

St Kilda begin their season with a game against Gold Coast - the club who drafted King's brother Ben - at Marvel Stadium this Sunday.
