Wright ruled out of round one as recruits look likely to debut

Sam Wright has been ruled out of a round one selection due to a quad injury suffered in the JLT series.

This opens the door for a round one club debut for Jasper Pittard who plays a similar role to Wright.

North on-ballers Jed Anderson and Ben Jacobs will also miss round one through injury meaning that North’s other recruits Dom Tyson and Aaron Hall will also likely be in the team along with Jared Polec who was expected to be picked from the start.

North’s injury prone forward Taylor Garner, who missed all of 2018, made a return in the VFL this past weekend and will be looking to make a case for his selection at AFL level in the near future.

"'Garns' was really good. He looked really powerful once he got into the game," North's VFL coach David Loader told nmfc.com.au.

"He led up at the ball pretty well and ended up with half a dozen shots at goal, which was super impressive.”
