The Western Bulldogs are set to appeal Katie Brennan’s two-week suspension in a bid to make her available for this weekend’s grand final against Brisbane.

Foxfooty.com.au believe those involved in the appeal are sure Brennan should not be suspended from the grand final, and are a chance to announce on Wednesday they'll be appealing the decision further.

Brennan’s lawyer, Sam Norton, will need to change the jury's mind regarding the suspension, and must use at least one of the following grounds to get Brennan's appeal overturned.

Norton will need to argue either; the decision to suspend her was an error of law, it is a manifestly excessive sanction, it is a manifestly excessive classification, and/or the decision was so unreasonable no tribunal could have reasonably come to that conclusion.

If the Dogs decide to officially challenge the suspension, they will front another panel on Thursday night to ultimately decide Brennan's fate.

Ï’m gutted with the decision but I’ll support the club in whatever they choose to do going for forward,” Brennan said after the tribunal rejected her appeal on Tuesday night.

“We’ve proved that the girls don’t need myself out on the field to win games and I’ll back them 100 percent and also be able to play a really important role on gameday.”

If the appeal fails, Brennan’s penalty will remain at two weeks, given the failed challenge.
