The Western Bulldogs won't be trading star ruck Tim English this off-season.
Dogs player acquisition and strategy manager Michael Regan was adamant that English would be pulling on the red, white and blue in 2027.
Speaking on the first day of the trade period at Marvel Stadium, Regan was asked if he could rule out a move away from the Kennel for the All-Australian ruck.
"One hundred per cent," Regan said.
"Ever since Tim's name was raised, he's given us zero indication that he wants to leave the football club. We certainly haven't entertained anything.
"Everything that's been put out there by the people connected to Tim has pointed one way, and we are emphatic on that. We love Tim, and we want to keep him in Bulldogs colours going forward."
Another Bulldog that has been floated in trade discussion with reported interest from St Kilda is utility Rory Lobb.
Regan was quick to dampen that trade speculation as well.
"We have had no approaches around Rory," he said.
"He wants to stay absolutely."
Regan confirmed the Dogs won't be pursuing Port Adelaide utility, Todd Marshall. He said that the club is not having any ongoing conversations with the 27-year-old despite his name being floated as a potential part of the Zak Butters deal.
The Bulldogs said that the Butters deal is heading in the right direction, but there is no clear answer yet as to how to satisfy all sides. A trade involving multiple clubs looms as a possible option.
The Bulldogs also have interest in Fremantle's Nathan O'Driscoll and Hawthorn's Finn Maginness, but those talks will develop later in the trade period, with Butters understandably taking priority in the club's dealings.
