In a major coup for the club's depth, Western Bulldogs, Jedd Busslinger and Lachlan Kennedy have committed their futures to the Kennel.

Key defender Jedd Busslinger, a player made to wait for his opportunity at the level, has been a critical piece of a backline that many view as undermanned, performing valiantly against some of the league's premier key forwards.

Still just 15 games into his career, the West Australian's best is well and truly in front of him, and the Bulldogs think so too, inking him to the club until the conclusion of the 2028 season.

Luke Kennedy lined up against the Pies in just his seventh game at the level, evidencing the trust Luke Beveridge and co have in the Sandringham Dragons product.

Footy boss Sam Power said he was pleased to announce the extensions of the young Dogs.

“Both Jedd and Luke have shown promising signs in their short careers, experiencing a taste of AFL football and winning a VFL premiership together,” Power said.

“At only 22 years old, we're excited about where Jedd can continue to take his football, showcasing his capability in several games at AFL level this year.

“Luke is only in his second year of football and played a big final at the MCG in only his seventh game, contributing strongly across the ground.

“As a club, we see both Jedd and Luke as important parts of our future moving forward, as they continue to build their careers at the Whitten Oval.”

Busslinger's fellow defender, James O'Donnell, extended his stay at the club in recent times, too.
