West Coast has been forced into a squad change ahead of Sunday's clash with Richmond after forward Jack Petruccelle sustained a calf injury.

Petruccelle has suffered a corked calf and won't be available for selection for this weekend, with the full extent of the injury to be made clearer in the coming days.

The club confirmed on Saturday afternoon that Petruccelle will miss the Round 18 affair following the team's captain's run, with mid-season signing Ryan Maric brought into Adam Simpson's starting 22-man side.

The change sees Maric named for his fifth game in the royal blue and gold since joining the club in May through the Mid-Season Draft. Maric was initially named as an emergency for the game against the Tigers alongside Luke Edwards, Andrew Gaff and Rhett Bazzo, with the latter two and Maric omitted from last week's squad.

Gaff will be named as the club's tactical substitute one hour from the opening bounce on Sunday, barring any further late changes.

Xavier O'Neill has been named in Maric's place on the list of emergencies.

The Eagles have brought in Luke Shuey, Shannon Hurn and Sam Petrevski-Seton for this weekend's contest.

West Coast will host Richmond at Optus Stadium on Sunday at 2:40pm local time.
