He has always maintained that he's a country larrikin at heart, and Steele Sidebottom brought that side of himself to the fore at his final Copeland Trophy presentation night as an active player.

One of the Magpies' favourite sons won the coveted Collingwood best and fairest award in back-to-back seasons, in 2017 and 2018 - with the latter of the two coinciding with a second-placed finish in the prestigious Brownlow Medal.

The 35-year-old father of three ripped Nick Daicos for the controversy that surrounded his second-placed finish last year, in a memorable exchange. Daicos' famous father was seemingly irate with his son's second-placed finish - a finish that led the club to review its processes regarding the anointing of their player of the season.

"Have you thought about what would happen if you come second?" Sidebottom joked, before Daicos obliged him with a customarily well-trained answer.

Injured ruckman Oscar Steene was not spared for his mum's role in his Instagram content, Billy Frampton ironically felt the wrath of the follicly-challenged veteran over his new hair-do and Ned Long was chastened for his inability to recall his first date with his current partner.
