Collingwood's Sarah D'Arcy was reported for kicking Carlton midfielder Sarah Hosking late in the third quarter of Friday night's season opener between the Blues and the Pies at Ikon Park.

On a night that saw 19,000 fans turn up to support the opening on the AFLW's second season, D'Arcy's actions was a minor sour note on an otherwise successful evening.

Following the incident that can be seen above, Hosking joined Channel 7's post-game coverage, and did admit the kick was painful.

โ€œIt did hurt, I wonโ€™t lie. Iโ€™m glad Iโ€™m not a boy,โ€ Hosking said.

โ€œLook, you donโ€™t want that sort of stuff to happen. But we will leave it up to the umpires and the match review to deal with that,โ€ Hosking said.

โ€œAs long as I can get back up and keep playing, I will keep going and they will deal with that.โ€

The incident is likely to be Michael Christian's first case, with the AFL's new match review officer set to look over the vision on Monday, before handing down a penalty.

Despite the incident, Hosking was able to run out the rest of the game, helping the Blues defeat Collingwood by eight points.
