Melbourne has re-signed youngster Josh Wagner for a further two seasons.

The 22-year-old has also been upgraded from the rookie list to the senior list, after playing 14 matches in his first AFL-listed season in 2016.

Wagner averaged 17 disposals, 3.3 marks, 3.6 tackles and 1.8 rebound 50s per game, playing as a rebounding defender for the majority of the season.

He was recruited from Aspley in Queensland with pick No.6 in last year's Rookie Draft.
